11-Aside

Important message to Coaches & Assistants from Barry Yee, V.P. 11-Aside:

Please note:

  1. A meeting of coaches/assistants will be this Friday, May 21st at 7:00PM, Rm #005.
  2. Coaches/Assistants will be assigned to teams based on past history/performance and priority assigned based on qualifications/accreditations;
  3. New for this Season: the Draft process will be amended, to allow for core team retention and best platforms to achieve success within the Inter-Park Division.

  • There will be a general assembly of Coaching Staff in April 2010.  Date to be determined, please check for Email notification as well as our calendar of events.

  • All new applicants for coaching and assistant positions must fill-out a police screening form ASAP to facilitate the assignment of teams at the general assembly.

  • All returning coaches and assistants need to fill-out  a current "2010" volunteer form and return to the Dollard Soccer Club ASAP, in time for the general assembly and assignment of teams.

  • Reminder to all coaches / assistants that the DSC is holding and offering free-of-charge, 3 levels of Coaching Certificates (it is desirable to hold these accreditations if the intention is to coach U-13 and older).  Please consult our website calendar and the "Coaching Clinics" page for dates and course levels.

  • Reminder to all coaches / assistants that there are various "clinics" offered by the Dollard Soccer Club throughout the year.  For age categories U-14 and older, it is desirable that you attend these free clinics.

  • Reminder to all coaches / assistants that the Dollard Soccer Club expects holding scheduled practices throughout the season.  Field time will be alloted for this purpose and will not be an option for teams.

  • Special Note for this year:  The Dollard Soccer Club will be hosting the 5th Annual IKPK (International Kids Playing for Kids) event and will be sending all the 11-Aside Boys teams to the Tournament in September 2010.  All Coaches are expected to be available during that month, to bring their teams forward.   The Club will acknowledge acceptance of this added event and all of the above items,   upon coaches  accepting/receiving their 11-Aside boy's team.

General Information 11-Aside

11-Aside division is for the oldest players of our youth club. The game is played on a full size regulation field. Players compete 11 against 11. Average team size is 18 players.

U-12 through U-18 players will continue to develop their soccer skills, along with heightened physical endurance and cardio vascular training.

Players, depending on age category, will be required to play either 30 minute or 45 minute halves.

As the players move from 7-Aside to 11-Aside, the competitive arena is once again elevated.  Success of teams will largely be dependent on organised practices, specialized soccer clinics and commitment from Coaches, Assistants and Players.

The Dollard Soccer Club offers a great platform to develop your child's soccer skills while allowing them to learn the values of sportsmanship, team spirit, discipline, dedication and the respect required in a competitive environment.

We look forward to a successful, challenging and enjoyable experience this Season.  Participation in this wonderful sport will ultimately enhance your child's athletic abilities while contributing to their overall fitness and good health.

Thank you for supporting your child as well as the Dollard Soccer Club.
