Intercity

Dollard intercity soccer teams range from U-9 to U-18 male and female. The teams play an average of 12-16 games in the season depending on the number of teams in their division.

DSC intercity soccer teams play at an elevated level of competition. This is where our elite male and female athletes from 9 to 18 years old compete throughout the Lac St-Louis region with other intercity teams. The DSC has technical programs in place to identify, select, train and develop players at this level. Our coaches must follow a defined technical training program (designed by the Canadian Soccer Association) in order to coach at this level. Our goal is to develop your children into the best soccer players they can be.

Intercity 7-Aside ages 9-10 M&F

This is the 7-Aside Elite Division that plays teams from other clubs in the West Island region. Tryouts are held every year to determine the A and AA teams at each age category. At this level girls and boys play separately. The game is played on a field one half the size of a regulation soccer field according to FIFA rules. Players compete 7 vs 7. The average team size is 13-15 players.

Intercity 11-Aside ages 11-18 M&F

This is the 11-Aside Elite Division that plays teams from other clubs in the Lac St-Louis region and potentially the Ottawa region as well (i.e. Gatineau, Hull). DSC tryouts are held every year to determine the A and AA teams at each age category. The game is played on a regulation size soccer field according to FIFA rules (referee and linesmen). The average team size is 16-18 players.

Intercity outline / information

There are various intercity divisions/levels in Lac St-Louis which the DSC competes in.

  1. The AAA division that plays throughout Quebec and compete for the privilege to represent the DSC both provincially and nationally. The qualification year for teams to advance to this level begins at U13 for both male and female teams.

  2. The AA division spans U11 to U18. These teams play within the Lac St-Louis region exclusively.

  3. The A division also spans U11 to U18. While not as competitive as the AA, they also play throughout the Lac St-Louis region.

  4. Divisional Intercity teams span U8 to U10. These teams also compete against the elite players within the Lac St-Louis Region. Game Statistics are not published at this level in order to promote player development within our region.

The Lac St-Louis region is compromised of teams from:

  • Dollard

  • Dorval

  • Hudson-St-Lazare

  • Ile Bizard

* Note that not all teams are represented at every level of competition.

Intercity teams are usually managed by a team comprised of

  • Head Coach

  • Assistant Coach

  • Team Manager

The club has technical resources in place to help these individuals achieve success in developing your children’s abilities.

The competitive summer season runs from April to September. There is also a Lac St-Louis Winter League available to our teams as well.

Commitment from players is a minimum of twice per week. This usually translates into one game and one practice. At the AA or higher level most teams have an additional practice on the weekend. The teams play from 12 to 16 regular season games depending on the total number of teams in their Division (i.e. U12AA). There is also a playoff period at the end of each season.

There’s a minimum of two practices per week and one game. There is also a minimum cost to play Intercity; $110.00 for the registration for Dollard Soccer (Summer), and $90.00 Intercity fees.
