To Parents and Coaches of Micro Players
As V.P. Micro, Micro Director, and Convenors, we welcome you to an exciting season 2010!
The 2010 Micro Season starts, as follows:
U4: June 4th
U5, U6, U7 - M-W: June 7th
U5, U6, U7 - T-TH: June 8th
Last Date of Play before MicroFest:
U4: August 14th
U5, U6, U7 - M-W: August 18th
U5, U6, U7 - T-TH: August 19th
This year we have planned visits to the Micro Fields from our Technical Division to help the Coaches - this will help to make our drills more fun for your children.
We will also have a visit from the Impact who will be doing some clinics with your children. Check out the Micro Calendar - the dates flagged with soccer ball icons are the dates that the Impact will provide training for your players.
MicroFest will be on August 21st; our U7 girls will play a 45-minute game for the Micro Girls World Cup.
Note that all coaches are required to, and will have passed, a Police Verification.
"Popsicle Committee": the Popsicle Schedule is to be strictly followed; for those who have a scheduling conflict, you are responsible for arranging substitutions with other parents. [Parents who do not deliver will be brought before the children's "Board of Popsicle Review" ("tongue in cheek")] - we want happy kids!
Discipline: you have all signed the Player/Parent Code of Conduct - just so we are clear, there is zero tolerance.
Complaints about coaches should be addressed to the Ombudsman (who will forward the complaint to the Disciplinary Committee, should the need arise) .
Future Plans
The next three (3) years all coaches for U-6 and U-7 teams will be required to take community courses, and attendance will be taken.
From a technical stand point, the technical team will be involved in enhancing team drills and individual advancement.
Special programs: this year we have split U-6 Girls and U-6 Boys. We hope to keep girls interested and involved in this sport. We encourage more female coaches and volunteers as role models and team managers.
For those who wish to volunteer as coaches and/or team managers, please email the V.P.'s Micro.
Let's enjoy a Fantastic Summer!
The youngest players join the Micro division. Girls and boys play on mixed teams. The game is played on micro size fields, one quarter the size of a regulation soccer field. The youngest players of the micro division compete 4 vs 4. Boys and girls will play separately as they move up through the division. Average team size is 12 players.
